My youngest has this fabulous way of making best friends with EVERYONE we meet. so one of the first things she did when we moved over here to Glasgow was make best friends with the ladies who run the flower shop on our street.
One day while we were conversing, she shared with them that she doesn't like getting flowers because of their inevitable death. And the woman shared her perspective. She said that that was the thing she loved most about gifting flowers, is that it is a reminder to live in the moment, to appreciate the fragility of things, and not to hold onto things too tightly because they won't last.
