And unlike the chicken, this woman knows exactly what is going on.
Painting No. 7 is a lobster.
On a plate.
With a lemon.
Looking absolutely fucking fabulous.
There is something inherently hilarious about a lobster. They are essentially armoured sea bugs with enormous hands, yet somehow we've collectively decided they're fancy.
And honestly?
I respect the branding. it's a well done play.
This particular lobster has taken that reputation and RUN with it.
She's not dinner.
She's the guest of honour.
She's reclining on her little floral plate in approximately seventeen shades of red, burgundy and pink, lemon casually positioned beside her like an accessory.
She has reservations at eight.
She knows the sommelier.
She will be sending the wine back if it's not properly chilled.
And she certainly isn't splitting the bill.
This is exactly where the 100 Paintings Challenge seems to be heading now. Ordinary things becoming little characters. Colours getting stranger. Paint getting messier. And me becoming increasingly invested in the personal lives of produce and crustaceans.
Excellent.
No notes.
Because perhaps there is a tiny lesson in the lobster after all:
Act expensive.
Even if you're technically just a sea bug.
Original acrylic painting on rough-edged paper. Roughly 8.5 x 12 One of one Painting 7 of 100
Lemon included.
Attitude non-negotiable.
