Watching it Unfold - Triple Dandelion
12" x 24" Acrylic on wood canvas
Original fine art by Erin Elizabeth

The Maiden. The Mother. The Crone.

Three flowers.
Three faces of the feminine.
Three ways of knowing.

And perhaps the most powerful magic of all, not needing to know what happens next.

In Celtic and witchcraft traditions, the sacred three appears again and again - birth, life and death; waxing, full and waning; past, present and future; maiden, mother and crone.

Not three separate women.

One woman, continually becoming.

The Maiden carries possibility.

She stands at the edge of the unknown with her pockets full of beginnings. She hasn't seen how the story ends yet - and that's precisely where her magic lives. Excitement. Joy. Play.

The Mother is creation.

Not simply motherhood, but the fierce, fertile middle of things. She makes. She tends. She loves. She builds. She nests. She pours herself into something without ever being given a guarantee about what it will become.

And then there is the Crone.

Oh, I love her. i might love her the most.

Because she has lived long enough to understand the thing the rest of us spend half our lives trying desperately to avoid;

You were never supposed to control anything.

The Crone watches with the deep knowing of someone who understands seasons. who has been through and cried through, and smiled through it ALL.

Things bloom.

Things die.

Things return in forms we never expected.

And no amount of gripping the stem will make the flower open faster.

This painting is about embracing that sacred three.

The part of you who still hopes.

The part of you who creates.

And the part of you who already knows.

It is about doing the work, planting the seed, making the art, saying the thing, loving the person, taking the leap.

and then unclenching your fucking hands.

Because releasing the outcome isn't giving up.

It's trust. Divine Faith. Self love in it's maximum form.

It's saying:

I will participate fully in my life without demanding that life unfold according to my instructions.

There is magic in that.

Plant it.
Tend it.
Allow it.
Witness it.
Let it unfold.

You don't need to pull the petals open. You don't need to be the wind that carries the seeds.

You don't even need proof that it's working.

Sometimes your only job is to stand in the beautiful, terrifying space between intention and outcome...

and trust the magic.
